Vision: Chiang Mai Smart Mobility & Northern Gateway

Chiang Mai Smart Mobility & Northern Gateway is a long-term future mobility scenario used to explore how Chiang Mai could be interpreted as a strategic transportation, tourism, and connectivity gateway within the Upper Mekong Subregion. By examining a hypothetical relocation of a primary mobility hub to the San Sai–Doi Saket corridor, this scenario illustrates potential approaches to congestion mitigation in the Old City, spatial redistribution of economic activity, and evolving patterns of sustainable tourism, logistics, and regional connectivity linking Chiang Rai, Lampang, and neighboring areas.
